On a Paleo diet

Hi guys, welcome back! It's been a while since I've sat down and written something but we go.

Last Tuesday I watched a documentary on Netflix with Pete Evans called The Paleo Way. I thought it was amazing! So I thought, battling with my health issues, being overweight and struggling to lose it, a constant frustration with horrible heartburn I had nothing to lose. So I sorted out a shopping list based on recipes from one of Pete Evans low carb recipe books and did my shopping.

By Friday I felt great!

Friday night we went out for a Christmas party, I had a few little quiches, a mini pie and a couple of small pieces of vegetarian pizza, I also had a good share of wine.

Saturday I woke up feeling simply awful. Saturday night was terrible. I suffered intense heartburn for over an hour! I was in horrible pain from my front to my back. Sunday I was still feeling so flat! I had no energy, I felt like doing absolutely nothing. I knew then, this way of life needs to be a permanent thing! So I got back to my eating, now it's Tuesday and  I'm back to feeling better! I'm clearer, my energy levels are rising, I'm not relying on 4-5 cups of coffee a day.

It's easy to see what I need to do.

It's not worth the pain!

Self Improvment

Hello and welcome back to my blog.

Today, I'm chatting about Self Improvement. I'm not sharing info but sharing my own thoughts and feelings.

I am currently working on improving my own self, I need to heal myself from the inside out.

My childhood still holds a lot over my self esteem, my happiness, my life but my life has improved so much and I'm the happiest I've ever been and that is such a great motivator for the rest of my life.

6 days out of a week I have myself together, I am strong, I can make it through my day feeling accomplished and successful. Of course I have those days that I'm not even close. I bash myself up, I put myself down, I wonder what my husband sees in me, why he even loves me, and that's a hard day to overcome. I look forward to going to bed and pretending that day never existed.

Those days are further between and I can cope a lot better when I do have them.

My husband, Roger is amazing when those days to occur and my kids are a constant reminder that life is pretty great and a long way from where it used to be.

Most of my self esteem issues are based on my weight. I struggle a lot to lose the kilos, but I'm always trying. I want to be fitter and healthier so I can spend  a longer life with my husband and children doing the things we love together. I want to be able to run after them with happiness, health and spirit.

One day that will be my reality and I can't wait to share that with you.

It Ain't Weak to Speak

Hiiii, It's me again.

This is a serious note blog.

Have you ever dealt with any type of mental health? Do sometimes you struggle with your day? Is it hard to get out of bed sometimes? Is it harder than that??

I've been personally affected, myself and several people I know, and the sad thing is they couldn't find their way back. That's where it get real!!

Myself, teamed with Parklane and teamed with Livin are raising money to lift the taboo on speaking about mental health, "It ain't weak to speak"!

We need to work together! So combined with Park Lane, 50% of purchases through my special fundraising link we are raising money for Livin!

Head on over to https://parklanejewellery.com.au/store/start/fundraiser/1686 and purchase a park lane piece, I'm recommending the North Coast Bracelet, pictured below for $32 plus shipping and they are available in yellow, pink and blue!

All of the other pieces are available too!

If you can assist in any way, please let me know.

We can help each other if we just reach out.

Weight- how it affects your self esteem.

Hello. And welcome back.

It's been a while but here I am. Ive been struggling a bit lately. Mostly with my self esteem. How i feel about myself and the struggle i have daily to lose the weight, just so i can join in and play with my kids. So i have more energy to do fun things with them and with my hubby.

I'm struggling to get up from the couch and move to the kitchen or to the toilet. Getting up to check on the kids and make sure they're okay is getting harder. It's not because I'm not active. We go for walks, we live on a hill so no matter which way we walk we are walking up hills. We need fairly well. Breakfast  is good. We don't live near too many fast food places so those aren't easily accessible. We don't often purchase that type of food anyway.  I do the shopping each week and stock up on a lot of fruits and vegetables and cook from that during the week.

It's just hard to get a handle on it. My next step as I've tried every meal replacement, diet and pill in history and I've even had prescription drugs for weight loss too which have never worked for long; so I'm aiming for weight loss surgery, hopefully sooner rather than later.

I'm not sure how much more i can cope with...

A day in the Life of a SAHM

Hey Everyone,

Welcome back to my blog.

How is everygoing, comment below!

What topics would you like to see?

Our trip to Katherine in July- we slept at the border on the way up.

So each day usually starts the same, the kids will wake up when they're ready, somewhere between 7-9am. The kids will have breakfast whilst I'm having a cup of tea or coffee, then I'll get Charles dressed. Izabelle will pick out what she wants to wear, usually lots of layering of patterns and colours. She's always loved out of the ordinary ensembles.

If we haven't got anything planned for the day, the kids will watch a movie or T.V show they like whilst playing with their toys, usually at the same time, checking in on the movie every now and then.

They'll ask for food, or to play outside usually to make their way over to the grandparents place to play with their toys if they are home. Outside is usually code for their place, I have to persuade them sometimes to stay outside and play. There's heaps of things for them to do including playing in the mud kitchen and swinging on the swings.

Izabelle is learning to write words and sentences so we'll do that during the day sometimes too. If she's in the right mood she'll help me clean up her toys and put her clothes away. She has a pocket money system in place which is going o.k, too.

Charles likes to play non-stop with cars, trains, trucks etc and he makes up his own stories now as he plays.

There are certainly times where it's completely chaotic and I'm surprised I don't have more grey hairs.

I'll leave it there for now...

Roger & I

Hello, and welcome back!

Meet Roger, my husband! We met in March, 2011 and just hung out about 3 times. He was heading to Mount Hotham to work in the snow and I headed back to Katherine, NT.

We thought we both went our separate ways, never expecting to see each other again. Didn't go that way at all..

We started chatting again via Facebook and messenger and over the phone and before we knew it we were dating. Roger made the decision to leave the snow and he moved to Katherine, the rest is history.

We spent until October in Katherine then I moved back with Roger to Yankalilla to start our lives together in Rogers home town.

In December, on Christmas Day Roger proposed to me. He was so sweet, even getting down on one knee and he even asked my mum for permission. Such a romantic. Of course I said yes.

We set to get married on our anniversary, May 14th 2013, but some other surprises causes us to change that. We were expecting a baby, around the April 21st 2013, which meant the wedding was being changed. We brought it forward and got married on October 24th 2012, it was a quick engagement but when you know it's right, it really didn't matter.

We were married on the Wednesday at Sferas and it was stunning. It was such a blur but so wonderful, we had our closest family/friends with us and I couldn't of imagined a better evening.

April 25th, Anzac Day 2013, Izabelle arrived at 9:02pm after a full day of labouring.

All whilst we were busy building our place and getting it ready for us to live in. The bathroom was tiled super quick finishing towards the end of March.
Always fun times together.

He really is my true love, I couldn't imagine life without him. He's my rock, always supporting me and I'm always supporting him.

In October 2014 we found out we were expecting our second, he was born at 11:24am on May 31st 2015 and life is pretty amazing with these two. Maybe in the future we'll add some more to our home and hearts.

What's next for us?
Stay tuned.

Mental Health, as a mother, as a wife, as a person.

Hello, and welcome back to my blog. By now you would've seen what my day has, the kids take up most of the time in a day. The housework is a day in, day out kinda gig and the rest is taken up by my Park Lane jewellery business.
www.blingupwithcourtneypaine.com and this all takes a toll on your mind, your self-esteem, the goals you had in your life before marriage and kids and being a stay at home mum.

What did you see your life being? Where did you see it going? Are you fulfilling the goals and dreams you had, and can you still get there?

The simple answer is YES! You really can. It's a battle, I spend a lot of my days feeling like I haven't got it right, I'm not contributing enough to the household and I don't earn anything. That, I think contributes a lot. I also struggle day-in and day-out with my weight, how I just can't seem to get a hold of it and get to where I want to be. I think it plays havoc in my mind and has my thoughts filling with 'My husband could do better than me', 'why did he marry me and my problems?' and that is tough.

I feel like I'm getting on top of those things most of the time, occasionally I have bad days, where I just struggle but that is okay. It's okay to have an emotionally draining day where all you do is cry, it's normal and healthy to let your emotions out, otherwise carrying them around can cause more harm than good.

I am daily working on trying to be the best me I can be, the best wife I can be, the best mum I can be and simply the best me. That's all I can do, is try! I can't ask myself to do more than that.

Together we can work, we need to be open and honest with each other, we need to help each other out, listen and connect with one another and not put each other down- that's the best we can do, but we need to do it together.

I love where my life has lead me to, I love my children, I love my husband, I love my life and I love my business.

The business has lead to me to meet some beautiful women that are nothing short of amazing.

I couldn't ask for more than that.

Kids life!

Hello and welcome back.

This blog is all about the kiddies. What do they get up to in a day? Usually making their own adventures. They have a few regular catch ups during the week which they do with their grandparents. This includes Story Time at the local library and rides on the bike at the skate park. They also have friends whom come around to play and do projects including planting seedlings 🌱. They have a lot of fun with that.

There is so much for them to do around home. Swings, playing in the sandpits, jumping on the trampolines. Looking for kangaroos that like to call this place home too. Gardening, playing with their grandparents. Izabelle likes to spend lots of time with Robin, her grandpa doing science experiments with him. They’ve grown salt crystals together as well as lots of other activities.

The kids had loads of fun at the Adelaide Show recently. We spent most of the day watching the shows, including Jimmy Giggle, the Trolls and PJ Masks show. They had a blast! We also saw the dogs and cats, Charles sat in a tractor and he was right at home. He loves anything with wheels. He's been obsessed with trains for almost two out of his three years alive! Cars, tractors etc have joined onto that passion. Izabelle, usually shy gave the orangutan a big hug, which was a big step for her. She said she was overwhelmed by the height and noise when we first arrived.

This picture above is of Izabelle's garden, she loves flowers and this is such a delight walking past daily.

Home! I wouldn't be anywhere else.

Home is where your heart is,
and it lays right here.

Our Latest Renovation

The Bedroom and Laundry

We have spent the last two years working on our bedroom and laundry nook, they've recently almost been completed, just a few bits and pieces left on both projects. Roger has done most of this himself, with help from me, as well as his parents who have a lot of knowledge when it comes to building homes on their own. We love the red jarra wood which we had left over from our floor upstairs, which we used to frame in our bedroom. We went for corrugated iron for our walls and ceiling and I love this unique look!

Roger installed carpet tiles to most of the bedroom floor, which is a nice warm luxury waking up each morning.
Our Laundry Nook

We went for red bricks in a subway style, a black grout and the smaller silver button frieze. Next step is to clean it up and add a silver tap, we are going to add cupboard doors under the shelf to hide the washing machine and the shelves but keep the top open.

Merry Christmas!
